Goodwill Industries of San Antonio Invites Community to Grand Opening of Computer Works Store Aug. 12-14 at 281/Bitters Road Location
Proceeds from sales of refurbished computers help create jobs for individuals in our community
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 4, 2016) - The public is invited to join Goodwill Industries of San Antonio during the grand opening of its Computer Works store from Friday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Aug. 14 at its Bitters store location, 13311 San Pedro Ave. at Highway 281 and Bitters Road. Attendees can register for a chance to win a pair of BeatsTM Headphones, Merge® VR Goggles (virtual reality), a refurbished laptop, and other fun prizes.
“We hope you will join us during our grand opening celebration August 12-14 of our Computer Works store, where you can find new and refurbished computers and accessories just in time for back to school, college, home or work,” said Gail Ribalta, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, Goodwill San Antonio. “Computer Works not only offers affordable technology to all, but also has the added benefit of helping people in our community to improve their lives through the power of work”.
Computer Works offers a variety of electronics including laptops, desktops, computer accessories, and tablets at affordable prices. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Goodwill aims to be the electronics recycling partner of choice for San Antonio residents and businesses. Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to donate their unused computers— working or not — to Goodwill. Goodwill Donation Stations accept desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals – basically anything that can be plugged into a computer. These donated electronics are then managed by the Goodwill Electronics Recovery Program, where Goodwill offers our community the opportunity to responsibly recycle and reuse computers and equipment. All donated computer systems are cleared of any existing data, following industry standard software best practices. Items not sold are sorted for recycling with “zero waste.” Last year, Goodwill refurbished and sold thousands of computers and peripheral accessories. Proceeds from the sale of donated and refurbished computers help fund education, training and career services that prepare individuals to find better jobs and build careers.
