An Opportunity to Thrive: John's Journey

Meet John. For 13 years, John has been a valued member of Goodwill San Antonio’s Business Services team, helping process sensitive military records with accuracy and care.

Born with cerebral palsy, John says his parents taught him the value of hard work. He joined Goodwill after seeing a job posting in the newspaper. Over the years, he’s grown alongside the organization, adapting to new technology, changing processes and new responsibilities.

When asked what he would tell someone with a disability who is looking for work, John said, “Don’t give up. Goodwill gave me an opportunity, and it’s made a difference in my life.”

During Disability Pride Month, we’re proud to celebrate John and the many talented individuals who make our mission possible. Creating opportunities for people with disabilities is part of our mission, and we’re committed to building a workplace where individuals of all abilities can learn, grow and succeed.
