Goodwill San Antonio Calls for Action this Earth Day 2024

Donor at Goodwill SA

Goodwill San Antonio invites the community to take action this Earth Day by donating their gently used clothing, electronics, and household items to their nearest donation center to promote sustainability and reduce waste in local landfills.

In 2023 alone, Goodwill San Antonio’s donated goods and retail stores repurposed nearly 23 million items for purchase in-store and online. The revenue from those sales allowed the organization to provide GOOD jobs, career training, and employment placement to over 2,000 individuals facing barriers to employment.

Goodwill collects donated items at its 24 stores and 8 conveniently located donation stations in and around the greater San Antonio area. Items accepted include gently used household items, furniture, electronics, sporting goods, toys, and clothing. Donations and purchases protect the environment through the principals of reuse, repurposing, and recycling.

Furthering their sustainability efforts, Goodwill San Antonio has recently installed solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at four stores across the city. Combined, the 522kW system will generate 784,982 kilowatt hours of solar energy, meeting 100% of each site’s energy needs.
