Goodwill San Antonio Teams Up with Operation K9 To Save Veterans Lives
Operations K9 Helps Veteran Rehabilitation With Service Dogs
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 29, 2016) - Goodwill San Antonio has teamed up with Starbucks to help bring awareness to the impact that Operation K9 has made on the Veterans community. Operation K9 is a non-profit organization that helps train and match service dogs with veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or other physical injuries from combat.
This Saturday, the community is invited to meet Operation K9 trainers and the service dogs between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Starbucks Veterans Community Store located on 8227 State Highway 151 at Loop 410. Attendees will learn about the work Operation K9 is doing for Veterans, as well as teach people how they can help. During the event, attendees can receive a free tall coffee or iced tea when they donate school supplies in support of military students at Ft. Sam Houston Elementary School. Also, ten cents of every transaction made at the Starbucks Veterans Community Store, a Goodwill San Antonio partner, will go to help support Goodwill San Antonio Veterans programs.
