AFFORDABLE MEDICAL SECRETARY TRAINING PROGRAM STARTS APRIL 20
Classes teach valuable administrative skills sought by healthcare sector employers
SAN ANTONIO (April 14, 2015) — The Good Careers Academy, an accredited institution and part of Goodwill San Antonio, is expanding its Medical Secretary training program for the Spring 2015 semester as local employers seek to fill positions in medical coding, insurance, billing and general healthcare office applications
The 21-week program (231 hours) starts April 20, and introduces students to the roles and responsibilities of a medical secretary and the variety of duties and functions it entails. Terminology that students will master includes:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Medical Front Office operations and procedures
- Medical Software and Computer
- Records Maintenance
- Electronic Health Records Maintenance
Students will also be introduced to Medical Billing and Insurance and Medical Coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10). Tuition is $2,450 and a registration fee of $50 is due at enrollment. Those fees exclude the cost of books, supplies and uniforms.
Classes will be held in the Good Careers Academy located within the Goodwill store at Interstate 10 West and DeZavala Road.
