“This has been a goal of ours for some time: to provide the residents in the neighborhoods near the Ella Austin Community Center a dedicated space to find career opportunities,” said Clarke Mosley, Director of Workforce Development for Goodwill Industries of San Antonio.

Services provided at no cost to the public include:

  • Computer access to conduct job searches
  • Vocational interest and aptitude assessments/surveys

The Ella Austin Community Center was the first, and remains the only agency, offering comprehensive social services in the eastern sector of the city. Its services include early child development, parenting classes, youth and family services, Artists-in-the-Making, assistance to individuals and families in crisis, homebound meals, senior nutrition, senior activities, and volunteer income tax assistance programs.

“Our community will now have the added benefit of the Good Careers Center to empower individuals with access to technology and assistance that can help build our community,” said Anthony E. Hargrove, chief executive director of the Ella Austin Community Center.
