Fashion blogger Agosto Cuellar will showcase how "Fashion is What You Make It"

SAN ANTONIO – Goodwill San Antonio is inviting the public to a free San Antonio Fashion Week Event where local fashion blogger Agosto Cuellar will join costume designers in showcasing how they have made fashion careers out of repurposing goods and clothing from Goodwill San Antonio.

The “Thrift & Mingle” event will take place 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the downtown Goodwill store at 406 W. Commerce Street. Find directions at As an official part of San Antonio Fashion Week, the event is conveniently located directly across Santa Rosa Street, within walking distance of the Texas A&M San Antonio Educational & Cultural Arts Center, the main venue for many runway shows.

“Agosto has a great story for aspiring young designers who can find inspiration in Goodwill stores by creating something new or finding affordable fashion,” said Marla Jackson, CEO of Goodwill Industries of San Antonio.

Space is limited for the free event, so Goodwill is asking any interested parties to RSVP online at The event will feature models wearing styles pulled by Cuellar. He and others will discuss creative ways to express yourself using the theme, “Fashion is What You Make It.” Shoppers will also be able to purchase hand-picked items featuring a special “Work It! Fashion Show” tag. All proceeds help fund educational programs and services that assist people in finding better jobs and building careers.

“Join us for fashion, food and fun as we demonstrate creative ways to get designer looks at affordable prices,” said Cuellar. “This gives thrifty shoppers a chance to express their style without paying the high-fashion prices during the biggest fashion event of the year.”
