GOODWILL HOSTS CAREER FAIR TO PAIR LOCAL JOB SEEKERS WITH EMPLOYERS
May 7 Career Fair features employers in health care, technology, hospitality and more.
SAN ANTONIO -- Goodwill is hosting a career fair that will put job seekers in front of a wide variety of local companies that are ready to hire.
Employers including Aramark, Centralized Showing Service, Holiday Inn, Lowe’s, Pepsi, West Corporation and more will meet with job seekers at the event, which takes place Wednesday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Goodwill’s Good Career Center at 13311 San Pedro (at Bitters).
Participants should dress for success, bring resumes and be prepared for on-site interviews.
The career fair is part of Goodwill’s mission to help change lives through the power of work. The San Antonio-based non-profit, which also serves New Braunfels, Seguin and Laredo, tailors job training programs and career services to meet the needs of employers in the community. Goodwill provides a wide range of job search services through its 10 Good Careers Centers. In addition, Goodwill offers certification-based, affordable career training in information technology and health care through its Good Careers Academies. Goodwill currently operates three Good Careers Academy locations in San Antonio.
In 2013 alone Goodwill placed 2,171 individuals directly into jobs in the community. Goodwill also provided health and human services, including employment, to 53,651 people in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Seguin and Laredo in 2013.
The career fair is part of National Goodwill Industries Week, which commemorates the job training and job search services that Goodwill Industries provides in 165 communities throughout the United States and Canada.
