Virginia: A Story of Accomplishment
Virginia, as a single mother of two, realized going back to school was the only way she would have financial security for her and her family. With the help of Goodwill San Antonio and the Good Careers Academy, she obtained a trade certification in a high-demand occupation as a Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician. She now has options and is considering pursuing a career as a Pharmacist.
Brittany’s determination and support from Goodwill Academy helped her overcome loss and homelessness, begin a medical assistant career, and create a home for herself and her six children.
A flyer and a phone call led Zackary to Goodwill’s no-cost Construction Boot Camp, where he gained new skills and support to pursue a career in construction.
After moving from Afghanistan to San Antonio, Mohammad turned to Goodwill San Antonio’s NXT Level program for support. Today, he has earned his GED, enrolled in college and is pursuing a future in technology.
