Travis: A Story of Determination
As a medically retired veteran, Travis and his family saw an uncertain future ahead. Both he and his wife were looking for employment to support their three children. With the help of the Goodwill Veterans Resource and Career Center, he was able to obtain a position with the Awards and Recognition Center at Randolph Air Force Base. Aided by the Good Careers Academy, his wife was able to complete the Certified Nurse’s Aide Program. Goodwill helped them secure their futures and gave them back their self-worth.
A flyer and a phone call led Zackary to Goodwill’s no-cost Construction Boot Camp, where he gained new skills and support to pursue a career in construction.
After moving from Afghanistan to San Antonio, Mohammad turned to Goodwill San Antonio’s NXT Level program for support. Today, he has earned his GED, enrolled in college and is pursuing a future in technology.
When Henry moved to San Antonio, finding a job was his top priority. He visited a Goodwill San Antonio Career Center for help with his resume, not knowing the visit would lead him to an opportunity at Goodwill.
