Richard: Successful Veteran
After more than 20 years of serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, Richard made the leap into the civilian world. Though he was retiring from the military, he knew he wanted to do more with the rest of his life. When he heard that Goodwill offered a Veterans Outreach Program designed to help military veterans transition into civilian careers, he knew he had help in reaching new goals. Now, after forging a new career path with help from Goodwill, Richard is in turn providing hope and guidance to others as a financial counselor for United Way.
Brittany’s determination and support from Goodwill Academy helped her overcome loss and homelessness, begin a medical assistant career, and create a home for herself and her six children.
A flyer and a phone call led Zackary to Goodwill’s no-cost Construction Boot Camp, where he gained new skills and support to pursue a career in construction.
After moving from Afghanistan to San Antonio, Mohammad turned to Goodwill San Antonio’s NXT Level program for support. Today, he has earned his GED, enrolled in college and is pursuing a future in technology.
