Neal: A Story of Commitment

Meet Neal,

Neal served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, a chapter that shaped his life and values. His service was part of a proud family tradition; His father fought in the Korean War, his uncle in World War II, and now his son continues the legacy as a Marine.

Neal’s commitment to serving others didn’t end when he retired from the Marines. After attending a Goodwill Career Fair, he met Cathy Dye, Workforce Program Senior Manager, whose passion for the mission resonated with him. Inspired, Neal began volunteering his time to support the early growth of the Goodwill Academy.

Today, Neal is the Vocational Skills Instructor in our Reentry Program, teaching and mentoring justice-involved individuals as they work to rebuild their lives.

“True leadership means pairing responsibility with authority,” Neal said, “and providing the guidance and support needed for success.”
