Leandro: A Story of Impact

Meet Leandro,
Leandro began his Goodwill journey in 2005, working as a cashier at Goodwill’s Laredo store. Just one year later, he was promoted to work in Laredo’s  Goodwill Career Center, setting the foundation for what had become a goal of his since walking through Goodwill’s doors; “I have always loved the mission” Leandro said, “and what it means to serve in a position like mine”.

Guided by strong leadership from Christiana Salinas and driven by a passion for helping others, Leandro knew this was where he was meant to be. In his role as a Career Services Specialist, he helps those in need find meaningful and lasting work while refining the soft skills they need to grow with confidence. He often reflects on a time when he was once navigating hardships with the burden of having to find work. Because of his dedication and the meaningful impact he has on the lives of those he serves, Leandro was recognized asone of Goodwill’s four Going Above Award recipients for 2025.

“The encouragement given by my manager in 2005 and now, the support of my supervisor has inspired me to give back the way they have for me,” Leandro said. From passion to purpose, Leandro’s journey inspires us all. Join us as we celebrate his hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving others.
