Iliana: Successful Good Careers Academy Graduate
Iliana lost her job while going through a high-risk pregnancy and for a time, she was homeless. She discovered the career opportunities offered through Good Careers Academy (GCA) while living in a shelter and decided she wanted to go back to school. Goodwill offered resources and solutions to overcome obstacles she had. As a certified Medical Assistant, she now has a career, not just a job. Her next goal is to buy a house for her kids and Goodwill helped her start that dream.
Brittany’s determination and support from Goodwill Academy helped her overcome loss and homelessness, begin a medical assistant career, and create a home for herself and her six children.
A flyer and a phone call led Zackary to Goodwill’s no-cost Construction Boot Camp, where he gained new skills and support to pursue a career in construction.
After moving from Afghanistan to San Antonio, Mohammad turned to Goodwill San Antonio’s NXT Level program for support. Today, he has earned his GED, enrolled in college and is pursuing a future in technology.
