Debra: A Story of Fullfilment
Meet Debra,
For 22 years, she has poured her heart into caring for others. Through every challenge life placed before her, her children remained her guiding light. As they grew older, Debra realized it was time to turn some of that care and devotion inward and focus on herself.
Her love for thrifting led her to Goodwill, and in 2021 she joined the Fredericksburg Road store as a production associate. Her manager, Esther, saw more than a strong work ethic, she saw a woman rediscovering herself. With Esther’s support, Debra was offered an assistant manager role just three weeks in.
Four years later, Debra now thrives as the, E-Commerce Training Specialist, “I love what I do,” Debra said, “because I know that Goodwill is helping others like me.”
After years of giving her heart to those she loves, Debra has found a new kind of love; a love for her work, her purpose, and most importantly, herself.
