SAN ANTONIO, TX – (November 3, 2025) – Goodwill San Antonio has been selected by the City of SanAntonio as a prime partner for their SA Ready to Work initiative, one of the nation’s most ambitious workforce development programs. As a result, Goodwill San Antonio will expand career training and job placement services to qualifying individuals seeking jobs in high-demand occupations.

Contreras III, President and CEO of Goodwill San Antonio. “Through the support of SA Ready to Work, we can now scale our current offerings to help more people achieve economic mobility through the power of work.”
As one of the region’s recognized workforce development organizations, Goodwill joins a list of prime partners including Alamo Colleges, Project QUEST, Restore Education, Workforce Solutions Alamo and Hallmark University. Over the four-year partnership agreement, Goodwill San Antonio will receive funding to support an ambitious goal of serving 1,800 participants.
In the first year, participants enrolled at the Goodwill Academy will be able to earn industry-recognized credentials in the following fields: Medical Assistant, Nurse’s Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Manufacturing, Construction, and Logistics. Subsequent years of the agreement will allow for additional career training options that align with employer needs, workforce development priorities, and industry growth. Participants of the program will also receive case management, job placement, and retention services that will support a successful transition into the workforce.
