One day only: $2 clothing at Goodwill San Antonio on Aug. 17 for National Thrift Shop Day | News4 SA

SAN ANTONIO – Shoppers will be able to stock up on bargains Monday, Aug. 17, when Goodwill San Antonio drops the price of all clothing to $2 for one day.

Goodwill San Antonio said the promotion is in recognition of National Nonprofit Day and National Thrift Shop Day. The organization said the event is meant to highlight both affordable, sustainable shopping and its nonprofit mission of “Changing lives through the power of work.”

The deal applies only on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at all Goodwill San Antonio-operated retail stores, except the Goodwill Selects location on Evans Road.

Goodwill said thrifting continues to grow in popularity as shoppers look to save money, find one-of-a-kind items, and make more sustainable fashion choices.

The organization said buying secondhand helps keep usable items in circulation and out of landfills.

Goodwill San Antonio also emphasized that it uses revenue from donated goods and store purchases to fund no-cost career training and employment placement services for people facing barriers to meaningful employment.

In 2025, Goodwill San Antonio said the community helped it repurpose 17.2 million donated items and support 1,760 local jobs.

Through Goodwill Academy and Career Services, the organization said 1,531 individuals gained employment and 659 completed a career training or education program last year.
