There’s no question that a bit of a thrift store renaissance is underway in San Antonio. As prices soar, hitting pocketbooks harder and harder, thrift shopping has moved from a weekend hobby to a necessity for many families. And longtime contributor to the San Antonio thrift scene, Goodwill, is keeping in lock step with this increased demand.
The well-known second-hand retailer already has a 25 stores selling wares across the greater San Antonio area – and nearly another dozen donation stations – but it’s ushering in a new location. And it’s joining ranks of a booming thrift store market on the Northeast Side of the city.
An uprooted Walgreens at 6363 Rittiman Road will officially be home to this new Goodwill come Wednesday, May 13, sitting in a shopping center across from H-E-B undergoing a development boom.
