Goodwill San Antonio Reminds Job Seekers That Career Growth Is Within Reach: "New Year New Career"

As residents across San Antonio look toward 2026 with aspirations of a new, meaningful career or upward mobility, Goodwill San Antonio is reminding the community that vocational training and job support are available and accessible through its Goodwill Academy and Career Services, all strengthened through the organization’s partnership with San Antonio Ready to Work, one of the nation’s most ambitious workforce development efforts.

As workforce needs continue to evolve, aligning skills with employer demand remains a challenge. The World Economic Forum reports that 63% of employers cite skill gaps as the biggest barrier to business transformation. This reality makes access to training and career guidance more important than ever for individuals seeking long-term stability.

Through the Goodwill Academy, individuals can pursue industry-recognized vocational certifications aligned with in-demand fields like healthcare, manufacturing, and more. Goodwill’s Career Centers provide free, personalized support such as resume assistance, interview preparation, job search coaching, and employment placement services. In 2025, 659 individuals earned a credential, and 1,531 individuals gained employment through Goodwill Academy and Career Services, taking vital steps toward a better future.

This year, as a prime partner of the City’s Ready to Work program, Goodwill is expanding these proven programs to serve eligible individuals with career training, case management, and retention support, ensuring their professional success and fueling regional economic health in the process. RTW can also help provide participants supportive services, including emergency aid for childcare, rent, utilities, food, and transportation.

Community support remains essential to Goodwill San Antonio. Donating gently used goods, shopping at Goodwill stores, and sharing the organization’s mission of Changing lives through the power of work make it possible to sustain the programs that continue to lift individuals, families, and the San Antonio workforce.

Goodwill Academy is enrolling students now. Those interested in a new career are encouraged to visit GoodwillSA.org or call (210) 924-8581 for more information.
