It's a local tradition that has thrilled San Antonio's most savvy bargain shoppers for decades! It's the 88th Annual Rummage Sale, hosted by the Junior League of San Antonio and Goodwill Industries of San Antonio. Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 25th, 2012.
From 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. you'll find the most fabulous, ridiculously deep discounts on designer, name-brand merchandise at these seven Goodwill stores...(click each for more information)
It's our fourth year of partnering with the Junior League to put on this shopping extravaganza! JLSA volunteers work year-round to gather new and gently used items to sell at the event.
Local non-profits will receive $15,000 in merchandise gift cards to allow San Antonio families to shop at the event. But that's not all. We're also providing free and low-cost services, like job search assistance, financial literacy information, and health care information at three of the event locations including Goodwill at 2514 SW Military Drive at Zarzamora Street (near South Park Mall); 3401 Fredericksburg Road at Vance Jackson; and 13311 San Pedro Ave. (Hwy. 281) at Bitters Road.
We started this exciting partnership with the Junior League in 2009. The two non-profits also started collaborating on an in-store boutique, called Julia's Attic. It offers Rummage Sale-style bargains year-round, in all San Antonio-area Goodwill locations. When we started this venture in 2009 we only had four locations to choose from. Last year, the Rummage Sale expanded into seven Goodwill locations. More treasures to be discovered! We're excited to see what great bargains you find this year. Now that the tryptophan from the turkey is slowly wearing off, it's time to start searching for the perfect gifts for this holiday season! Is Goodwill on your list of stores to stop by? It should be, and here's why. Even the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals can't compete with everyday bargain prices at Goodwill. The best part is that you don't have to camp out in the cold or wait for your items to be delivered to you! All day, everyday, we offer some of the best bargain prices!
That just might help keep you in the holiday spirit as well! You don't have to wade through a riot of people to fight over a $2 waffle maker, or be afraid of being trampled, because our prices are this low... everyday. And since our merchandise changes daily, you never know what treasure you might find.
One way to keep the focus on the spirit of the holidays instead of the hustle & bustle of buying the perfect gift is to do a White Elephant Gift Exchange! Each person only has to bring one wrapped gift. But that gift isn't your typical holiday present. It's a random, odd, unique, quirky, or funny item! Each person draws a number from a hat to decide who goes first. Once the order has been determined, the first person gets to pick whichever gift he or she wants, opens it up, and shows it to everyone. Then the second person can either steal that gift from the first person or chose a new gift from the pile of still un-opened packages. Here are a few great White Elephant gifts we have found at our stores lately...

Uh oh! The flames must have died out on that relationship a little too soon.
