Marla Jackson, Chief Operating Officer
Marla oversees Goodwill's Retail and Work Services Units, which produce revenue and career pathways for Goodwill's mission to help change lives through the power of work. Her duties also include service as Interim CEO for the $50 million organization. Marla's leadership has helped secure $3.9 million in new government contracts in a competitive market, and an increase in sales per square foot by 15 percent in Goodwill's retail outlets. She has implemented efficiency-improving changes throughout Goodwill, from incorporating Kaizen principles in the retail stores to developing a compliance plan and strategic planning process. Marla joined the team in San Antonio from the Goodwill of the Valleys, Inc. located in Roanoke, Virginia, where she served for 8 years, eventually becoming the non-profit's Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer.
Stephanie Parker, Chief Financial Officer
Stephanie oversees the finances of Goodwill Industries, with duties including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, cost control initiatives, compliance and risk management. Stephanie comes to Goodwill from a position as CFO for Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, where she was part of the senior administrative team that opened the new hospital. Stephanie's duties included setting up the financial systems and controls for the new hospital, managing governmental and commercial payer processes, participating in hiring of management staff, preparing budgets and establishing contracts with physicians and vendors. During her tenure the hospital increased its patient capacity by nearly 60 percent within two years and launched plans to increase its operating rooms by 50 percent.
Donna Lazzari, Chief Mission Officer
Donna and her team manage all of Goodwill's mission activities, which include preparing, placing, retaining and advancing students and participants in Goodwill's network of programs and services. A team member of Goodwill since 1994, Donna graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio where she received her degree in Human Recourse Management. She was instrumental in leading the efforts and creation of Good Careers Academy, a non-profit vocational training school that offers affordable tuition and support services that help students complete their studies. GCA recently received the highest level of accreditation for its career training programs, which are delivered at four locations in San Antonio in partnership with The Alamo Colleges. She oversees a number of team members in Workforce Development, Good Careers Academy and Career Development and Learning areas and over $3.5 million in grant-funded Workforce Development and training programs.
Alan Barrington, Vice President, Human Resources
Alan provides leadership for Goodwill’s Human Resources and Risk Management teams with responsibility for benefits, compensation, recruiting, team member relations, loss prevention, safety, and enterprise risk. Prior to joining Goodwill in 2010, Alan spent the previous 20 years in human resources leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of Human Resources for companies such as Dean and DeLuca, Jiffy Lube, CarMax, and Service Merchandise. Alan's work has been profiled in LP Magazine, a loss prevention industry trade publication, and presented by the Retail Merchants Association at the opening of their national meeting. He has also served as a featured speaker at the annual Conference of the American Society for Training and Development. Alan earned his certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources in 2003.
Lisa Brunsvold, Vice President, Marketing & Development
Lisa oversees a creative marketing team that promotes brand awareness throughout Goodwill's South Texas service area. During her tenure, Goodwill's online presence and social media outreach has grown exponentially. Her team recently completed a $3.3 million capital campaign to generate funding to support expansion of Goodwill's Good Careers Academy. Lisa offers a strong background in communications, development, constituent relations and legislative experience. Prior to joining Goodwill she served at the University of Texas San Antonio as Director of Cultivation Programs and Donor Relations. In her role overseeing public policy at Goodwill, Lisa draws on her experience with the legislative process as a press secretary for a Texas state representative.
Greg Eads, Vice-President, Retail Operations
Retail stores, donation stations and transportation provide the revenue that funds our mission. Greg and his team manage over 25 locations devoted to our donation and revenue stream.
Mark McKeever, Vice-President, Contract Services
Mark is responsible for Contract Services programs that connect individuals with job and training opportunities. He manages Goodwill's AbilityOne contracts with the Federal government, which include services such as document management, HVAC maintenance, grounds keeping and more. Under Mark's supervision, Goodwill's Contract Services has doubled in size over the past decade to its current roster of 17 contracts for service representing more than $21 million in annual revenues. Most importantly, the contracts create jobs for as many as 425 employees, 87 percent of whom have a significant disability. His team is also recognized for their outstanding quality of work. Mark comes to Goodwill after a 20-year career serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Joe Williams, Vice President, Information Technology
Joe provides leadership, strategic planning, support and consultation on information technology. His expertise includes implementing efficiency-increasing, cost-saving technologies. Joe's group is responsible for providing network maintenance, facilitating software updates and bringing innovation to Goodwill's computer systems across 35 locations. Prior to joining Goodwill, Joe's career includes leadership roles at credit unions, optimizing IT systems for institutions with tens of thousands of members and assets of up to $820 million. Most recently he served as Vice President of Information Technology for H-E-B Federal Credit Union. At Goodwill, Joe is also responsible for the direction and management of Goodwill's computing and information technology policies, programs and schedules for business and finance data processing.
